Pepper spray, and an over capacity crowd doesn’t stop powerful Ditch performance in Santa Ana

Ditch opened for Suga Free once again last night (Friday September 16th 2011) at Malones in Santa Ana, California amidst madness of an overheated and over packed crowd. The club was filled to capacity at 10pm, hours before Ditch was to take the stage, leading to heavy drinking and upset people outside who were told the show was sold out. Just before Ditch was about to take the stage, a fight broke out in the crowd of about 800 plus people. A pepper (mase) bomb was sprayed inside of the club, causing people to panic and get outside air. Ditch’s bodyguard had advised him to step outside of the building so as to not be affected by the pepper spray, but Ditch insisted he wasn’t going anywhere until he performed as planned. At one point Ditch could feel the effects of the pepper spray, but that didn’t stop him from rushing to the stage opening his set with “Get Em Up”. Ditch tore through his other songs, before thanking the crowd. Suga Free then took to the stage performing his hits.
